iOS App Development in Canada

Native Apple apps built in Swift, from first sketch to App Store launch.

Native Apps for Apple Users

iPhone users tend to expect a lot. They notice when an app feels slow, when a button sits in the wrong place, or when Face ID doesn't work the way it does everywhere else. A native iOS app meets those expectations because it's built with Apple's own tools, for Apple's own devices.

The App Bros Canada builds native iOS apps for businesses and founders across the country. We write in Swift and SwiftUI, design to Apple's guidelines, and take your app all the way through App Store review. Our team built PPA (Pocket Patient Advocate), a patient app that's live on the App Store, and The Dandie, which runs on iPhone and Android.

If your customers are mostly on iPhone, or your app needs Apple features that other approaches can't reach as well, native iOS is the way to go.

Apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac

Most iOS projects start on iPhone. Some go further:

  • iPad versions make sense for field teams, clinics, retail counters and anyone who needs a bigger screen.
  • Apple Watch apps work well for quick glances: reminders, timers, workout data and alerts.
  • Mac apps can share much of the same code, which is handy for tools your staff use at a desk.

We'll tell you which devices are worth it for your users, and which can wait.

Built in Swift and SwiftUI

Swift is Apple's own programming language, and SwiftUI is its modern way to build screens. Building with them means your app gets new iOS features sooner, runs smoothly, and is easier for any iOS developer to pick up later. You won't be locked into an unusual setup that only one team understands.

Using Apple Features: Face ID, Apple Pay and HealthKit

Native apps get full access to what makes an iPhone an iPhone. We regularly build with:

  • Face ID and Touch ID for fast, secure sign-in.
  • Apple Pay and in-app purchases for checkout and subscriptions.
  • Push notifications for reminders, updates and offers.
  • HealthKit for fitness and wellness data, with the user's permission.
  • Maps and location for directions, check-ins and nearby search.
  • Camera and photos for scanning, uploads and profile pictures.

What an iOS App Costs

Native iOS apps usually fall into these planning ranges:

Budget tierPlanning range (CAD)Best for
Growth build$28,000 – $71,000Custom design, admin tools, payments or messaging
Custom platform$71,000+Multiple user types, real-time tools, automation and scale

Planning ranges, not quotes. A simpler app can cost less. Your price depends on your features, backend and timeline.

Apps that handle payments or sensitive data, like finance and health apps, often land between $57,000 and $141,000 or more because of the extra security and testing.

Getting Through App Store Review

Apple reviews every app before it goes live, and it rejects apps that break its rules. Common reasons include crashes, broken links, unclear privacy details, or in-app payments that skip Apple's system. We build with those rules in mind from day one and prepare your privacy details, screenshots and reviewer instructions before we submit. Most reviews take a day or two, and if Apple asks for a fix, we handle it.

iOS App Development FAQs

What does an iOS app cost in Canada?

Most native iOS apps fall between $28,000 and $71,000 CAD, and advanced apps go past $71,000. A simple app or prototype can cost less. We'll give you a range for your app after a free consultation.

How long does App Store review take?

Most apps are reviewed within a day or two. A rejection adds time while we fix the issue and resubmit, which is why we plan for Apple's rules from the start.

Do I need my own Apple developer account?

We recommend it. When your business owns the Apple Developer account, your app is listed under your name and stays in your control. We'll walk you through setting it up.

Should I launch on iPhone first?

If most of your users are on iPhone, launching there first can save money and get you real feedback sooner. If you need Android too, a cross-platform app may be the better choice.
